Shadowdark Basics, Free stuff, plus - The Western Reaches, 1st Campaign Setting

• This taught me a ton about the game without reading one book. 
• Expect low HP
• Expect easy gear set up (and see the 20 slots or whatever it is) and how it works
• Get  your torches
• See classes and races that exist so far
• If you are a goblin or kobold, you probably are chaotic (bad guy), unless you are that 0.00001% exception, in my book. 
• See some of the powers of the races and classes
• See spellbooks
• Don't forget, spells are weird with the 50/50 or so chance of spell not working and gone for the whole dang day. 
• The creator lady said she wanted non-magic users to shine also. 
• I saw a guy who already changed it to work 75% of the time b/c it was making magic bad at super low levels or something. 
• Also Slyflourish said they ran a whole campaign up to high levels over a year and everything worked out. 
• Also admitted the mage was using Mage Armor as 1 cast = 8 hours instead of one fight, so .... hehehe, that changes things a lot.
