Not sure if it is the original manga/anime that started a thing yet, but it is from 2000 and has the “dolls” and/or puppet ninjas that seem a lot like those in Elden Ring. The floppy arm leg thing, the whole rag-doll physics. Mechanical clockwork parts internally. The wild spinning arms attack. But not actually four arms (funny how it appears to be four in the animation for a moment though, see blue guy picture #3 below… coincidence?). .
