HobGoblin art from older D&D, B1-9 In Search of Adventure module

HobGoblin art from older D&D, B1-9 In Search of Adventure module. Looks like a 1e or Basic B/X BECMI type module.

I love the detail. It is interesting how savage they are, as they should be. Also, note the one guy with the longer mustache whiskers... I guess he's either growing them on purpose or he just happens to ahve more facial hair in that area. Other hobgobs here have only the lower beard... it seems more fitting, but that's what makes the one crazier looking guy stand out. Either way, great detail.

The armor is interesting. Look at the fur detail... so realistic. The right arm's plate has spikey studs near the hand, apparently for ... punching?

The square black facepaint is very interesting too. It looks correct for hobgoblins. They are more orderly, so perfectly straight lines I can believe.
