The griffin didn't come from Protoceratops?!

 Good argument, excellent argument maybe, that griffins/gryphons didn't come from the old fossils:

Gist of it is this: all the theories were based on history from like year 700 B.C. onwards, but there is this drawing of a griffin from 4000 B.C. Holy cow:

I guess the counterargument is that since those Protoceratops fossils are so common, somebody saw them 6000 years ago, too.
