Give helpers. Tiny fire elementals (or fire snakes, 3.5e stats are good, paralyze a few rounds)… a bunch!! Surround. +2 flanking. Maybe +4 flanking special.
I think give resistance to slashing?? MaybE. Think fire lava children and their resists physical attacks

***note in 2e dnd, gotta summon elementals. The Drow did it!! A big fire pit with them coming out.
* 2e had 3 sizes, and biggest were 18 hitdice! Bigger or same HitDice than a dragon. Was +15 to hit (thAC0 was 5 on that one).
So why does the fire salamander in 2e's art have the deer antlers, sort of similar to east Asia's dragons? I don't know, but I think I like it. Although the guy's face is a little less scary and more cartoony... still pretty cool I think. Those are fire snakes hanging out with him.
