SSBU Bowser and Wario, from a Smash Newb/Veteran Gamer

Bowser

 I like this: https://game8.co/games/SSBU/archives/281188

"Smash Ultimate Bowser is perhaps the best the character has ever been. As always, he has access to a ton of KO moves, which can take opponents stocks extremely early. While his moves are all rather slow, he is immune to rapid jabs, and several of his attacks have super armor on them, allowing him to tank many opponent attacks and win interactions. He also boasts very high dash speed, and can edgeguard with B and use his command grab (side B) to clean up stocks.

Being a heavyweight, he is a target for projectiles, so he will have to make use of his speed to avoid getting camped. He also has a terrible disadvantage state, and mediocre recovery, which can make it tough for Bowser when he is getting comboed by an opponent. Although he has rather slow moves, each one of them hits like a truck, and Bowser is one of the easier character to pick up and play as."

But I have one question, what is "terrible disadvantage state"? They talk about issues getting comboes... so I guess they mean the way he falls from the sky after being hit. UPDATE: The kid tells me, vague term including when you are near the edge and don't want to be... or in the air and don't want to be above the bad guy. Also is vague b/c some characters, rarely, want to be in the air.

Basic tips for Bowser:
  • Block (shield their attack) and do Up-B. Is 6 frames to come out (fast)
    • Jump + Up-B is 9 frames to come out.
    • Grab out of shield for entire cast(?), aka shield-grab, is a slow 12 frames.
  • F-Air good
    • Short hop f-air is a kill move, good range, and just really good.
      • Careful if they are super short... maybe do the jump+jump button short hop then press attack after (does that work better?)
    • superarmor on startup dude claims
    • disjoint dude claims
  • Sometimes I do up-Smash after blocking something, but is that actually smart or just getting lucky?
  • Sit near ledge, or platform above ledge and use fire breath to knock them down.
  • Up-air is pretty good to kill, almost like DKong.
  • N-air is really good.
    • REDDIT folks say: Throwing it out is a gamble. Its sh*t on whiff/block and great on hit. You'll see Bowser's approach with forward air because its safe to throw out and starts combos and you'll see him throw out nair for a big damage read because nair alone deals like 30% if you get all the hits and combos.
  • Down-Air, the spiked shell drop, is often better than Down-B. Can steer it, and it comes out faster(?).
  • Side-Tilt, use it more.
  • Tilts have some intangi frames in middle of them.
  • Special grab... you and enemy fight over direction of where you land (lower dmg person has more control).
  • Recovery - REDDIT says: a lot of the times there is little to nothing he can do to get back onstage when he is dragged offstage by a combo because his recovery is bottom tier. The only thing he has is a slight timing/height mixup by delaying your B button taps.
F-air.

Wario

Basic tips
  • Down smash kinda bad
  • up tilt kinda good, might combo into itself
  • Eating things (motorbike, what about people??) shortens the Waft build up time
  • Do NOT hold up when on motorbike when falling off ledge, b/c it will wheelie and kill you (stuck on it for too long)
